Living in Sanskrit

“Each today, well-lived, makes yesterday a dream of happiness and each tomorrow a vision of hope. Look, therefore, to this one day, for it and it alone is life.” – Sanskrit Poem

I’ve discovered that sometimes the deepest thoughts are the simplest. The above poem portrays that. Its a simply phrased thought but it’s depth just seems to grow the more you think about it. I love the beauty of Sanskrit. This poem speaks to my heart on many levels.

I love the vision of seeing yesterday as a dream of happiness. We can choose to see each of our yesterday’s as moments of happiness in our lives. I love the idea that if we are living each moment well then each moment does hold happiness for us. Admittedly we may need to look for the happiness but we will always find something that brings us joy, even in moments of great sadness or pain.

…tomorrow a vision of hope….ah yes, who doesn’t fill their tomorrow’s with hope? Even those who think they have no hope, have a place in their heart and soul where hope blooms when given an opportunity. However, I wonder about the word hope. If we are “hoping” for something in the future, are we truly believing we are worthy of great things in our future or are we entertaining some form of doubt that brings it down to hope rather than a knowing? (hmmm….just thoughts to ponder)

Look to this one day for it alone is life. Everything always comes back to this one thought – LIVE IN THE MOMENT FOR IT IS ALL YOU HAVE. Simple thought but deep beyond measure. Every breath, every second is a new moment, a new opportunity to make a different choice. A new opportunity to experience something we have never experienced before. Just think of the possibilities that stretch out before us!
